US History 1700
US history was one of my most admirable classes. Not just because of the assignments and the grade, But because of what I learned from it. Since I took a regular US history class my junior year, it felt like I was just building upon all the information that I was learning in my US History 1700.
For my very first big assignment in US history, I was task to research certain groups in Americas history. It was one of a very nice assignments because I got a background of many things. It just didn't describe the people in America, but showed me what we have gotten and gained from the people.

The oral history report was a project where we had to interview a person who fought in WWII or the Vietnam war. But, since my family was immigrants and refugees, I was able to interview them and what they have been through to get to this country. My dad is who I interview, I have seen many perspectives but my dad was inspirational.

The national Anthem shows what America is like and why we fight for freedom. But, I was told to reflect what it meant to me and my family. I gave a forward response of not just what it meant to me, but what it meant to my family.

America's first hundred years was one of the most significant part of US history. The Civil war, in my opinion, was one of the most important parts. It set building blocks to what America is like today.

We have gone over so many events in US history, but one of the significant was George Washington's speech. It set a precedent for future presidents and what to say. For my final, I did a speech imitating myself as the President of the United States.

Overall, my favorite part of class what the interactive discussions, it showed me what other people think about certain ideas and topics. Many principles have gone through my brain, but one of the most important was to stay on top of my assignments. It is not something just for this class, but it will help me in the future. Most likely, there will not be any more times I can turn in something late or redo anything. With all of the knowledge I have gained from this class, and many other college classes, I am very confident I can get through my first year of college without failing. As my professor once told me, "When kids get freedom in college, they will fall out in most college." When taking this class, pay attention to the lessons, it is not just something that s required in this class, but it can help you out in real world situations and reflecting in the past. This class was one of the best, the philosophy was great, helping students build mor information off of what they already know, but prepares them to be a good citizen for the future. If more students take this class with a teacher like my professor, Mr. Jensen, there will be a bright future of students and citizens in the future this country. Mr. Jensen was one of the best teachers I had my senior year, he did not only help advise the AASA (Asian American Student Association), a club in which I was a founder, but he made me a better person overall. His over optimistic personality never let a class go. But on a scale of one to one hundred of class participation, I would put myself at a sixty. Not because of the lesson, but because I was kind of and kind of not interactive in most lessons. I would answer and laugh and cheer, but I really didn't do anything besides that. But overall, this is a class I will not forget.
